Last week, the 18th All Digital Summit took place in Valletta, Malta, bringing together hundreds of educators, policymakers, innovators, and digital skills leaders under the theme “Summit of Educated Digital Citizens: Empowering Connected Generations”. The three-day event was a celebration of digital inclusion, collaboration, and knowledge-sharing across Europe.
We were proud to see Professor Horacio González-Vélez, Professor of Computer Systems and Founding Head of the Cloud Competency Centre at the National College of Ireland (NCI) — and Coordinator of the Digital4Business project — representing our consortium at this important gathering.
Professor González-Vélez took part in the session “Driving Digital Transformation through Education and Awareness: Insights from European Innovation”, alongside Iva Walterova, Laura Hänsch, Luis Fernández, Matei Dimitriu, and Toumazis Toumazi. The panel, organised by Martin Kandlhofer of the Österreichische Computer Gesellschaft (OCG), explored how European initiatives are advancing digital transformation by building skills, awareness, and resilience.
His contribution highlighted the unique role of Digital4Business in addressing Europe’s urgent need for advanced digital skills. Through our Joint Professional Master’s Degree in Advanced Digital Technologies for Business, co-funded by the EU, we are equipping Europe’s workforce with in-demand expertise in areas such as AI, cloud computing, data, cybersecurity, and digital transformation.
The Summit underlined the importance of collaboration between education, industry, and policymakers to strengthen Europe’s digital resilience. We are proud that Digital4Business was part of this conversation, contributing to shaping the future of digital skills and digital citizenship.
