The Digital4Business Mentoring Programme is inviting experienced professionals to become mentors and support Master’s students as they develop the skills, confidence and connections needed to thrive in the digital economy.
Digital4Business is a Joint Master’s Degree delivered by four leading European Higher Education Institutions: Linköping University, NOVA IMS, National College of Ireland and the University of Bologna. The programme equips learners with advanced knowledge in areas such as Artificial Intelligence, Cloud Computing, Cybersecurity, Data Analytics and Digital Transformation.
As part of this wider learning journey, the mentoring programme connects students with industry professionals who can offer practical guidance, career insight and real-world perspectives.
Why become a mentor?
Becoming a Digital4Business mentor is an opportunity to make a meaningful contribution to European digital education while also developing your own professional network and mentoring skills.
Mentors will support motivated Master’s students through fully virtual sessions, helping them reflect on their goals, explore career pathways, build confidence and connect their learning to the realities of the workplace.
As a mentor, you will have the opportunity to:
- Guide one to five Digital4Business students through regular virtual mentoring sessions
- Share your experience in digital technology, business, leadership, entrepreneurship, networking or career development
- Expand your professional network across four European Higher Education Institutions and a growing community of students, alumni and industry professionals
- Take part in peer mentoring with students who are often already working professionals themselves
- Receive public recognition as a Digital4Business mentor, including a personalised certificate and LinkedIn recognition, where desired
- Join a curated European community contributing to digital skills development and the future of work
The programme is designed to be flexible and manageable. Mentors are asked to commit to one one-hour session per month per mentee, delivered fully online and scheduled at a time that suits both mentor and mentee. Even one hour per month can make a real difference.
Who can become a mentor?
The Digital4Business Mentoring Programme is looking for professionals who are interested in supporting students as they develop their confidence, career direction and professional networks.
You do not need prior mentoring experience to take part. The essential criteria are strong interpersonal skills and experience or competencies in at least one of the following areas:
- Career guidance, whether for first job, mid-career or executive-level development
- Innovation and entrepreneurship
- Leadership
- Networking
Professionals already involved in the Digital4Business project are also welcome to apply. Their familiarity with the programme is considered an asset.
Support for mentors
Mentors will not be expected to work alone. The programme provides practical support to help mentors feel confident and prepared, including a mentoring masterclass, a mentor handbook, session templates and access to a dedicated coordinator.
A skills-based matching process will be used to align each mentor’s expertise and interests with student profiles and goals. Mentors will also have the opportunity to review their proposed match before confirming.
Who will mentors support?
Mentors will work with Master’s-level students enrolled in the Digital4Business Joint Professional Master’s Degree in Advanced Digital Technologies for Business. Many students are already working professionals with significant industry experience, bringing valuable perspectives of their own.
This means the mentoring relationship is designed to be mutually beneficial. While students gain guidance and insight from experienced professionals, mentors can also learn from emerging talent working across different sectors, countries and digital disciplines.
A chance to contribute to Europe’s digital future
Digital transformation is reshaping every sector of the economy. By becoming a Digital4Business mentor, professionals can play a direct role in supporting the next generation of digital leaders, helping them build the confidence, networks and practical understanding needed to succeed.
Whether you can support one student or several, your time and experience can have a lasting impact.
